Our Services

Sunday School --
10:00 to 10:50 Sunday mornings.

Adult Sunday School: We're never too old to learn more from God's Word. Our adult Sunday School is a chance for busy adults to spend some time together studying the Word. Sometimes we do a study of one of the books of the Bible. Sometimes we follow a topic study that is woven through many books and verses.

Children's Sunday School: With age-appropriate materials, we guide the children through Bible stories and biblical themes. A nursery is available for babies.

Sunday Morning Worship --
11:00 to 12:00 Sunday mornings.

Our Main Worship Service: is more "traditional" than "contemporary," in that we like to sing traditional hymns together, pray and hear our pastor deliver a message from God's Word. We're not highly formal and occasionally vary our format. In every service we strive to have our focus be Him more than us.
--- We feel the family is a crucial part of God's design for our lives, so we like to have families stay together while we worship Him with song and prayer. The children are usually dismissed to Children's Church (see below) after we've sung together and before the morning message.
--- Pastor Novy prefers to develop a series of messages drawn from a particular book of the Bible. Each message is complete in itself, so you won't feel lost if you missed a Sunday. Pastor Novy's focus is generally on how we, as believers, can grow in Christlikeness.

Children's Church: After we've prayed and sung hymns together, the children are dismissed to Children's Church. Typically, we try to keep ages similar, with separate classes for pre-primaries, primaries and middle school ages. Teens usually stay with the adults for the main message. The nursery is always available for baby care.

Sunday Evening Worship --
6:00 to 7:00 Sunday evenings

Praise, Prayer and Devotion: Our evening service is less formal. It features hymns as well. We also listen to praises and prayer requests from those attending. Then, usually, a member prays for the group, bringing the praises and prayer concerns before the throne.
--- Pastor Novy brings an evening devotional which is often more topical than a book study. Always, the message comes from The Word. Interaction and discussion on the topic are encouraged.

Children's Church: Usually, the kids are dismissed to their classrooms after we've opened in prayer and sung a hymn. Evening activitiies often include crafts along with the lesson, which is often a reinforcement of the morning's lesson. This is also a time when they youngsters help with outreach projects, such as making gifts for nursing home residents or working on Old Home Days decorations.

Prayer Meeting --
7:00 to 8:00 Wednesday evenings

Praise, Prayer and Devotion: An important mid-week recharge of our spiritual batteries. A short devotional follows an opening hymn. The kids are released to "Busy Beavers." (see below) Teens head out to Teen Group. (see below)
--- The adults share praises and prayer concerns, then break up into men's and women's prayer groups. In those small groups, additional prayer needs are added and everyone who feels comfortable doing so, bring their praises and concerns before the Lord.

Teen Group: Teens need a special time to share their concerns and discuss issues from their day. They, too, get the blessing of time in prayer.

Busy Beavers: The younger children often get to engage in crafts and projects which are part of LBC's outreach. Sometimes they're making gifts for nusing home residents, or creating cards to send to missionaries, or working on decorations for an upcoming events.
