Christ In the Holy Days V

Text:Lev 23:33-ff.; Ps 113-118; Heb 11:13-16; Rev 21

Today we wrap up our advent and our journey through the biblical holy days and feasts. To recap, there are Four spring holy days that all point to the death, burial and resurrection of the Messiah, Jesus Christ of Nazareth as well as the sealing of the Holy Spirit. The first three are the Feast of Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of First Fruits. Christ dies as the ultimate Passover Lamb, laid in the grave as the bread of life, and rose as the fist and only to raise self from the grave. The forth is the Feast of Pentecost which is when Christ gives the Holy Spirit to all His children as the earnest payment for the Bride. His church.

The first four feast fulfill the Old Testament or covenant that God made with man. The last three will line day fulfill the New Testament or Covenant that God has made with man. These are the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles. The Feast of Trumpets proclaims and prepares for what is about to happen, the Day or time of atonement. This is when Christ makes final payment and rights all wrong in the world. I believe this begins with the tribulation period and goes through the Millennial reign. Then everything culminates with God tabernacling with man for all of eternity, Rev 21. This feast looks back to the provision of God in the Wilderness and forward to a time when God will tabernacle with His Children.

During the feast of Tabernacles, 70 bulls are sacrificed in reference to the 70 nations that came out of Noah, Num 29:12-35. Solomon also proclaims that God hears the prayers of all people, II Chron 6:32, 33. Then God Himself proclaimed that His house shall be a house of prayer for all nations during the dedication of the Temple, Is 56:7; Mark 11:17. Sukkot is the harbinger to the ingathering of all nations and the time when God will once and for all tabernacle with His children, Rev 21.

So. A couple of questions to think about. First, will we remember the provisions of the Lord and praise His name? Also, will we live looking forward to the time when our heavenly Father will live with us? Will we live pure and holy for Him?
