Text:John 1:1-14
Today we will look at a phrase that has crept into the church and I believe really affected the body of Christ in a negative way. Now anyone within reason is welcome to visit church absolutely. We are all broken and in need of a Savior. We all are sinners that need to cry out for Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. God also loves everyone so much that He gave His only begotten Son to redeem all of mankind and give us liberty and hope, John 3:16, 17.
The phrase that we are looking at today is this idea that we are all God’s children and He loves us as such. I believe that this phrase is used by people who would rather be liked by others than take a stand on Truth. Truth can be offensive at times and be hard to digest but it does not change the Truth. This phrase is also used by people that I believe desire to live in their sin and not just feel good about it but have others feel good about it and celebrate sin together. The Bible is pretty clear that we are children of someone and that God does love everyone very much.
John 8:28-47 teaches us that naturally we are the children of the devil. We do his works and act out according to the flesh and sin. When we are of the flesh we are children of darkness and do not the deeds of God the Father. When we are of darkness there is no light in us at all. This is why we need a Savior to redeem us and bring us the Light.
Once we receive the Truth and accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Him only, we become the children of God and of Light, John 1:1-14. You see, there is nothing in us that is good and God gives us the ability to become His children. God then loves his children with an unconditional love once they are washed in His blood. I love all the people in the body of Christ but not all the same. I love my wife and my now 7 children more than any others. I will do things for my family and my children that I would not do for others. I love them and will help out whenever possible but my family is my family. God’s family is God’s family and He loves them with an everlasting and complete love. Be a part today.
