Mother’s Day – Woman Of Virtue

Text:I Timothy 5; Titus 2

Who can find a virus woman?  What is a virtuous woman?  The word virtue means moral excellence, righteousness, and goodness.  The world does not teach young ladies how to be moral or good today.  What we see modeled is sensual, weak and down right dirty.  To be a lady used to be a station of pride not that long ago.  The Bible is very clear and God calls all women to be ladies that are obedient to Him and virtuous.

In our I Tim. and Titus passages, we see a list of godly virtues that God takes delight in.  One key one is the office of house manager.  This helps fight against giving occasion or room for our adversary to disrupt and cause confusion as he always does.  In business, a manager is to run the company, shop, or location in a way that bring honor, profit, and delight to the owner or owners of the company.  The house manager is the same idea.  A virtuous woman will manager the house in such a fashion that honor God and her husband and allow her husband to trust her decisions. This requires God first and foremost.  Also, clear communication and holiness.

Our world model again teaches woman really to be an object and not much more.  There is this idea that managing the home is old fashion and degrading.  This is the same world that tells us flaunting your body, being emotionless, and talking like a sailor is new and fresh.  Our flesh likes to feel empowered as well and egos grow out of control the more we obey this worldly desires.  True virtue is something that is taught and passed down.  Seemingly less and less with each generation.  Older ladies please take up your mantle and teach younger women how to be ladies.  We are in dire need of godly women who will stand on the Truth of God’s Word and are willing to live against this world with great dignity and virtue.  Stand up against the flesh and stand out in this world of sensuality and promiscuity.  Be godly and honor the call to which you have been called.  Take up the mantle of being a virtuous woman and pass it on to others.  Come along side of other virtuous women and let them know they are not alone for Christ’s glory!
