Sunday Adventure – A Journey Of Faith III

Text:Esther 4

Faith has a way of taking us out of our comfort zones. When we follow Christ, many times we are led into places that are unfamiliar, out of our control, and causes us to do things that maybe we do not feel comfortable or capable of doing. That is exactly the point of faith. We have discuss that faith is evidence and substance. We have discussed that faith deals in the spiritual, unseen world but has very tangible effects and outcomes in the physical world. Faith is also based on hope and is directly proportionate. Today we will spend time discussing the idea that faith deals in the unseen, spiritual world.

By faith we understand that the world was framed by the Word of God and not by things which do appear or are seen. This world tries to teach us from a very young age that things evolved from other things. They never get to the bottom line of where did everything come from. It just evolved in a big explosion. You and I are supposed to just take that and agree. However, outside of being absurd and not backed by science at all, it goes against scripture. God, Almighty spoke everything into existence in 6 days. Faith is in the unseen, spiritual world.

Esther had to make some very difficult choices on faith. First, she was orphaned by the Persian empire when they came in and took over. She was then raised by her uncle. While living and probably just doing her thing, she is then kidnapped by this same government and taken to the palace. Here, she undergoes training and is basically put on show for the King to choose. In the midst of it all the chosen people of God were standing at a precipice. They faced possible total annihilation by evil men. Esther had to get the king’s attention and root out the rat. Her uncle encourages her to go into the presence of the king and tell him. This could mean certain death as you do not just waltz into the presence of the king uninvited. He tells Esther that she was put there by God for such a time as this. She lives by faith and God uses her to save the people from death and being wiped out. You and I were placed here on the earth for such a time as this. Look to God by faith.
