Text:Psalms 51; I Peter 1
Today, I want to discuss the process of pain. God promises us that we will face pain and suffering in this life for sure. Whether it is the pain from living in a fallen world in this flesh or the pain and suffering for the cause of Christ. Mark it down because it will come to pass. Life just flat out hurts at times. We loose family and friends. We go through loneliness and emotional pain. We go through great physical pain sometimes due to others actions as well as our own. Pain leads to anger, then repentance, then to praise. David shows us this several times in Psalms.
After this last week, God have been giving me several scriptures and thoughts. First of all, we see that how we deal with pain depends a lot on our focus, II Cor. 1; I Peter 1. We need to remember that we have a lively hope, an inheritance that is incorruptible and cannot be stolen. This life is not the final chapter. We also are kept by the power of God Almighty Himself, John 10:28, 29. We do not have to give in to the spirit of worry or fret. Suffering is deep and lasting at times but only temporary at best, II Cor. 4:16-18. Hold on to the Lord and His Truths with all you are. Faith is more precious than anything this earth can afford.
When we hold on and take the suffering biblically, we shall come forth as gold or precious in the eyes of the Lord, Job 23:1-10. Job understood pain in this life. He understood what it meant to face trials and uncertainty. From the very beginning he said, “though God slay me, yet will I trust Him.” Job did not understand the working of God at that moment. He also still had to spend the rest of his life here on this earth with the pain of the past. However, Job remained strong in the faith and continued in Truth. Sometimes it feels like God is no where to be found. Job says that he looked everywhere for God and could not find Him, but God still knew Job and the paths that he choose. No matter if you feel God’s presence or not, press into His chest and truth. Press into your relationship with the compassionate Father who loves and cares for His children continually. Remember that there is always a way through faith, II Cor. 10:12, 13. Remain faithful!
